Baby Bassel Is a BOY!

Greer Reece Bassel was born on January 25th at 11:45pm. He weighed seven pounds four ounces and is 19 inches long. He is pictured with his proud parents, Charles and Meghen. Everyone is doing well.












Yes Litter - Two More OFA Results

Statesman's Yes No Maybe "Chessie" is shown doing one of her favorite things--cobia fishing on the family boat.

Statesman's Yes Snowdancer "Colwyn" is shown at dog shows this past September. Colwyn needs just one more point to finish his championship.

Both Chessee and Colwyn recently received the following ratings from OFA: hips GOOD, elbows normal, thyroid normal.

Thanks to the families who got these tests done so readily.










Ginger's OFA results are in!

Statesman's Early Flyer received her OFA results for hips and elbows today: hips are good, elbows are normal. January has been a good month for Ginger with her reserve win at American Spaniel Club and now her health clearances. Good Girl Ginger!

We are pleased to report that "Lissen" CH Clumbrolds Listen To My Heart and her brother "Trooper" Clumbrolds Follow Your Heart have both passed their OFA Thyroid tests. These two puppies were imported from Sweden and were bred by Margareta Edman of Kennel Clumbrolds. Lissen will be bred to Ch Statesman's River To The Sea CHIC in 2012.

Shellie Butler (AKA Statesman's No Shoes No Shirt No Problem) went hunting over the holiday break with her family, the Butlers in NC. Here are some lovely photos of her after a day's work in the field. Her owner, Jim Butler, has done a terrific job of training her. We wish her the best of luck with her future hunts!

Trystyn's Someone Like You showed very well at her first shows. She was handled by Susan and it was obvious that Meg had put in a good amount of time with training her.

Statesman's Early Flyer won reserve winners at the annual ASC specialty shows in Knoxville, TN. Ginger has returned to the Riese home to be shown this spring. She has fit right back into the routine and is a joy to live and travel with.







Farina at American Spaniel Club Specialties

Ch. Slapestone Sea Breeze won Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed this past weekend in Knoxville, TN. The quality was high and the win is just plain sweet. Farina was handled by Susan. Many thanks to Meghen for her patience through it all--Susan's training and handling!
